The Day K-Pop Takes Over Rock in Rio

A Historic Day for K-Pop

Rock in Rio is one of Brazil’s biggest music festivals, and September 11 will mark a first in its history: an entire day dedicated to K-pop.

The main stage will feature NEXZ, Hwasa, Alok, and Stray Kids, with tickets for the day already sold out. Rather than simply adding K-pop artists to an existing lineup, the festival is giving the genre an entire day of its own.

Three Artists, Three Different Stages

NEXZ will open the K-pop lineup at 4:40 PM. Formed through Nizi Project Season 2, the group represents a new generation of K-pop and will make its first appearance in Brazil.

At 7 PM, Hwasa will take the stage. Known for her work with MAMAMOO and her successful solo career, she brings a distinctive style and powerful stage presence. Her performance also marks her return to Brazil after eight years.

Stray Kids will close the night at 12:05 AM. As the first K-pop act to headline Rock in Rio, they will finish the festival’s first-ever K-pop day with one of the most anticipated performances of the night.

More Than Just a Festival Day

What makes this event special is not only the artists, but the stage they are sharing. K-pop will be at the center of one of Brazil’s biggest music festivals, with fans even allowed to bring their K-pop lightsticks into the venue.

For NEXZ, it is a first meeting with Brazilian fans. For Hwasa, it is a long-awaited return. For Stray Kids, it is a historic headline performance.

Together, their appearances show how K-pop has grown beyond dedicated fan communities and into the heart of major global music festivals.

On September 11, K-pop won't simply be visiting Rock in Rio. For one night, Rock in Rio will become its stage.
