E-Class Visas in Korea: Researching Employment Categories

FanWork · 가이드 · Visa, Jobs, Korea Life

Start with the Actual Work

These 2025 cards are a simplified introduction. Match immigration research to the exact occupation and situation.

Identify the Relevant Subtype

The letter E covers different activities and requirements. A broad category name is not proof of eligibility.

E-2: Foreign-Language Instruction

The source focuses on English teaching, but E-2 concerns foreign-language instruction. Check nationality, qualifications, employer and activity requirements for the applicable route.

E-7: Designated Specialized Activities

An IT, engineering or marketing job title does not automatically qualify. The designated activity, credentials and employer requirements matter.

E-6: Arts and Performance

Arts and performance routes have specific activity and documentation rules. Do not assume every entertainment role uses the same subtype.

Other Professional Categories

The card introduces E-1, E-3, E-4 and E-5. Professorship, research, technical guidance and professional work are distinct categories.

Confirm the Application Route

Confirm the correct route and required documents through the authority handling the case. A contract alone does not grant permission to work.

Use Official Guidance

Use the Korea Visa Portal and your responsible embassy or immigration office. Verify current requirements before applying.
